Where are my photos saved?

Every photo you capture is saved directly to your device's Photos app, inside a dedicated "Chroia" album. You can find, edit, or share them from the system Photos app.

What's free, and what needs Full Unlock?

Photocopy is available with no purchase. Full Unlock is a one-time purchase that opens the other five mechanisms: Riso Duotone, Flat Screenprint, Offset Newsprint, Engraving, and Mimeograph.

Is Full Unlock a subscription?

No — Full Unlock is a single one-time purchase ($5.99). There is no recurring charge and nothing to cancel.

How do I restore a purchase?

Open Settings in the App and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

Why does my captured photo look different from the live preview?

For Riso Duotone and Offset Newsprint, the live viewfinder only approximates one representative ink plate to keep the preview smooth. The full multi-plate overprint — the remaining ink plate(s), plus the intentional plate misregistration — is composited only at the moment you press the shutter, which is why the saved photo can look noticeably darker or richer in color than what you saw live. A small "+ OVERPRINT AT CAPTURE" tag appears on the viewfinder for these two mechanisms as a reminder. The other four mechanisms (Flat Screenprint, Photocopy, Engraving, Mimeograph) render a single pass, so their preview always matches the saved photo exactly.

What does the Misregistration slider do?

Real risograph and offset printing rarely lines up its color plates perfectly — that slight offset is part of the look. The Misregistration slider (available for Riso Duotone and Offset Newsprint) controls how far the plates drift apart at capture time; set it to 0 for perfectly aligned plates, or higher for a more visibly "off-register" print effect.

Does Chroia support Camera Control (the physical button on iPhone 16 and later)?

Not in this version — every control is on-screen touch (tap a mechanism in the carousel, tap Adjust for ink color/angle/dot width/misregistration), so the app works identically across all supported devices.

Does Chroia capture video?

No — Chroia is a photo-only camera by design. Video capture is out of scope.

What format are photos saved in?

Photos save as HEIC, with the mechanism name used recorded in the photo's EXIF/TIFF metadata.

What languages does Chroia support?

English and Japanese are supported from launch. The app follows your device's language setting automatically.

Will my photos be deleted if I delete the app?

No. Your photos live in your device's Photos Library, entirely independent of the App. Uninstalling Chroia has no effect on photos you've already saved.
