Tap the + button on the Home screen. Fill in the medication name, dose, and unit. Then add a schedule — tap "Add Schedule" to set the time and days of the week.
You can also pick a color, set a condition tag (e.g. "ADHD"), and configure the alarm style (Gentle or Nagging) per schedule.
On the Home screen, tap the check button next to any medication in the "Up Next" section. The medication will move to the "Completed" section and the log is saved in Tookly.
You can undo a dose within a short window using the Undo toast that appears at the bottom of the screen.
PRN stands for "pro re nata" — a medication you take only when symptoms arise, not on a fixed schedule. Toggle As Needed (PRN) when adding a medication, and no reminders will be set.
PRN medications appear on the Home screen so you can log them manually. You can also set a minimum interval (e.g. no more than once every 4 hours) and a weekly maximum count as safety guardrails.
Gentle: A single notification at the scheduled time. It rings once and waits.
Nagging: Multiple follow-up notifications are pre-scheduled within a set window (e.g. every 10 minutes for up to 3 times) to keep reminding you until you log the dose. Ideal for critical medications you can't afford to miss.
Check the following:
- Go to Settings → Tookly → Notifications and make sure notifications are enabled.
- Check if Focus Mode is filtering Tookly. Go to Settings → Focus and allow Tookly in each Focus you use.
- Make sure the medication has an active schedule (not PRN) and the correct days of the week are selected.
- iOS allows a maximum of 64 scheduled notifications. If you have many medications or schedules, some distant reminders may be deferred until closer ones fire.
Yes. All medication data stays on your device (or in your private iCloud if enabled). No medication names, doses, or health records are ever sent to our servers or to Firebase.
If you're signed into the same iCloud account on multiple devices, your medications and logs sync automatically via Apple's CloudKit. No setup needed.
If iCloud is not available, Tookly works fully offline — all data stays local on your device.
To check iCloud status, go to Tookly → Settings → iCloud.
Go to Settings → Export Data. Tookly generates a CSV file with all your medication logs that you can share, save to Files, or email to yourself or your doctor.
A streak counts how many consecutive days you've taken all your scheduled medications. You can see your streak in the History tab. Keeping a streak is a great motivator to stay consistent with your medication routine.
When adding or editing a medication, enable Track Stock Count. Enter your current count and a refill threshold (e.g. alert when fewer than 7 doses remain). Tookly will warn you on the Home screen when your supply is running low.
Open the medication (tap the edit icon on the Home screen), scroll to the bottom, and tap Archive Medication. Archived medications are hidden from the Home screen but their logs are preserved in History.
Not in version 1.0. Tookly stores medication schedules and dose logs locally on your device, with optional iCloud sync when enabled.
Guardian mode (Family Sharing) allows a caregiver to view another family member's medication schedule and logs via iCloud sharing. Go to Settings → Family Sharing to set it up.
